ELEPHANT

The fire stripped to the embers and swayed.
I rest my head by the heat and pray for rain
Do you hear the sound of the blaze beating the dirt like drums?
Reflection grins of something unsung.
And midnight haze intoxicates and amazes
With sweet scents and visions of what's to come.

Oh Lord, don't mourn,
I'm just a trying man.

I've rid of malice,
But crawl before you stand.

Have islands in your eyes?
Or are they skylines meant to hold me down?
So hung up on your guise,
That I've gone over and hung myself.
I make new empathy last eternal,
proven hatred allows new trials to come.

Oh Lord, don't mourn,
I'm just a trying man.

I've rid of malice,
But crawl before you stand.

Come on, be strong,
And take your dying breath.
ust give, I promise
You'll smile at what's left.

I.M.N.E.L.E.P.H.A.N.T.

Two months after the separation,
Taking the miscarried womb from the numb safe hands of a familiar city.
This is the last bit of sophisticated apology I have to offer.
Don't mistake this for conformity to your disheveled taste,
You're the one who's being left behind.
You're the one who's far away gaze takes us both off this treasured path.
The violence begat from our mourning hearts seeped into our minds,
Skull-fucking them into stepping backwards into primitiveness.
You're the one who's being left behind,
You're the one who's being left behind!

You're now a fucking carnal vessel,
Thinking with your cunt on how to get more eyes batted your way.
I will overcome, I will persevere and prosper!
Now draw your fucking gun!
Shot and cower behind your blasphemous weapon!
This violence begets vengeance,
And the universe tends to unfold as it should.
Yes, the universe tends to unfold as it should.
The universe tends to unfold as it fucking should!

This Weekend Horse Rides On!

I've been here before,
It's darker nonetheless,
I want to be my best, I want you impressed.
Soft is the saddle
Of a reckless weekend.
Like a trying friend, it always blurs the end.

  I see silhouettes dancing, plotting.
Ride on the ghost, ride on the drunk weekend horse,
Ride on until sunlight cannot catch up.

Ghetto blast on the pavement,
They'll remember the sound.
Pray to God that they'll find me
Before I can't touch ground.

If I asked for the chance to be adequate,
Would you smile, be polite, but have none of it?
Granted, I'm heartened from this drink in my hand.
"Just be cool, don't anything foolish
If I do, I know I'll never hear the end of it"
Trying for something in atmospheres I can't stand.
I can't guarantee no regrets, my friends.
Ride on the ghost, ride on the drunk weekend horse,
Ride on until sunlight cannot catch up.

Ghetto blast on the pavement,
They'll remember the sound.
Pray to God that they'll find me
Before I can't touch ground ,

Everybody's looking, searching for what they know.
Everybody's knows it, but nobody will tell you.

Ride on the ghost, ride on the drunk weekend horse,

Ride on until sunlight cannot catch up.

Never Knows Best

"Turn off the radio!" you begged through car windows,
I can't pretend to care enough.
You laugh at all the ways you put me in my place,
Fuck all that shit we talked of.

But all along you had another taste,
Forbidden fruit was smeared across your face
Oh, Lady Luck, you tease, you!

I can't wait for the inevitable
Crash and burn, don't mind while I revel.

"Shut down the stereo, and watch my sultry pose!"
He'll think himself original.
He'll charm with his cliches, then fuck you callously,
Are you turned on at all?

(Oh, you swallow down his lust with your own,
Act confused when you both spit it out,
Am I supposed to feel remorse
For some well disguised whore?)

I can't wait for the inevitable
Crash and burn, don't mind while I revel
You can call me out,
You worth less than who's in your mouth.

Am I to blame, for your mistakes?
Am I the one you call on when you feel ashamed?
Well, save face at another place
Because the word deceit on your lip's what I taste.

(Wow, saved the worst for last? Brought down like your paintings from the wall.
Small glances from adoring suitors won't mean shit, won't mean shit at all.)

I can't wait for the inevitable
Crash and burn, don't mind while I revel
You can call me out,
You worth less than who's in your mouth.

New Hollywoodland

Hollow out the heart to make room for ambition,
Hop into the car and drive into the dusk.
No one ever said there would be repercussions
To chasing lust.
Is this a game? I think I'm losing.

I'm talking to myself, I'm swearing at your name
And trying to drown your voice out with another's moans.
Everyone is looking for a way to fame,
but end up alone.
We tempted fate, she loves mistakes.

Meddle with the flow and feel it all around me,
Burn the bridges down to be led by their light.
Gamble what you owe and hope for better winnings,
Who could guess that city signs would be your guide?

How much of ourselves do we let go
Before the rest will at last find a real home?
If you have it in you to understand
You'll find yourself in the New Hollywoodland.

You say you know what comes next?
I'm willing to bet that it won't be what you've guessed.
I dream much better due to trial and error than I did when I wasn't doing best.

You can't afford to not be here,
With city lights that hum away the fears.
I know I've dimmed your darkest days
But just to make the next one clear
If you could hear sincerity,
Oh honey, hear this out, I plead.
We're all alone to find the light

We all must find our way to the city.

Drop Bombs Not Names

You and me, we're not the same as when we did start,
And now the careless coast has made you turn away.

I've seen it all before, I've heard the same SOS cries.
So bite and brag some more, we stumble when left to our own device.

Drop bombs not names, mate
Don't hold yourself at fault
Just ride the waves, mate
The loudest ones are nervous to fall.

If words speak quietly, I'll let this song just howl it all out
Taste the palm tree breeze, before it sighs through corners of your mouth

Drop bombs not names, mate
Don't hold yourself at fault
Just ride the waves, mate
The loudest ones are nervous to fall.

Drop bombs not names, mate
I'll hide the glow before it's put down
Just ride the waves, mate
She won't have it all now.

You and me, we're not the same as when we did start,

And now the careless coast has made you turn away.
